We are delighted to be holding our first silent film night where Donald MacKenzie will be playing the accompaniment on the Ingram organ. The organ, originally installed in the Astoria Cinema, was designed for just this purpose.
Donald is one of Europe’s finest organists. He has presided at the Odeon Leicester Square organ for almost 30 years and is an acclaimed concert organist too. He has a reputation for being the finest exponent of silent film accompaniment (on the organ) and has travelled world wide to demonstrate his art. He has performed in many of the UKs top venues from Cathedrals to Concert Halls. Donald is also a fine concert organist and is in demand for playing recitals of light and popular organ classics.
